Rujak Pengantin/Wedding Salad

I don´t know why it´s called Rujak Pengantin/Wedding Salad. Anybody has a clue?
Ingredients:
Salad/lettuce, carrots, cabbage, boiled eggs, boiled potato, emping crackers, fried tofu

Peanut sauce to grind:
250 g fried peanut or peanut butter
2 tablespoons ebi/dried shrimps, soak in hot water then fry without oil
vinegar ( substituted with juice of 2 lemons)
2 bird´s eye chillies
75 g palm sugar
300 ml water
salt

    Waahhh aku jadi ngiler liatnya secara emang seger banget yaa...kaya gado-gado ya mba...

    Ini makanan kesukaan ku ..top pokoknya. Sayang lg nggak bisa makan kacang krn masih nyusuin anak...anak ku alergy kacang n telur.

  7. widi: minggu lalu nyobain ini di konsulat, koq segerr banget. Trus katanya itu rujak penganten, nahh..aku baru pertamakali nyobain tu..ikutan bikin deh dirumah. Lha..,aku koq nggak pernah nemu ya di wedding party di Ind, atau aku sibuk hunting makanan lain..he..he.

    little corner of mine: yes, this is almost similar with Gado-Gado, only adding dried shrimps.

  9. Mbak Retno, rujak pengantin memang rasanya maknyusss sekali karena rujak ini blasteran antara salad dan gado-gado. Tempat favoritku di rumah makan Ngohiang di Bogor. Seporsi cuma Rp. 12,000 (ga sampai 1 Euro)! Ayo mbak kita berburu rujak di Bogor!

  11. hmm.. no idea why this is call the wedding salad but sure looks like Gado Gado to me! Especially the peanut sauce!! So yum!!
