My entry for KBB #4 challange: Chocolate Swirl Meringues
My friend,Helwah Balfas, taught us how to make roti konde at her house two days a go. Thank you very much Helwah for sharing the recipe. Served with lamb curry or honey, jam or whatever you like. My kids prefer to eat roti konde with yoghurt, sliced onion and cherry tomatos than curry. You can see step by step to make Roti Konde Here
Recipe in Bahasa Indonesia here
Ingredients:
Pempek is one of my favourite food. There are many variety of Pempek, you can read more about it here and see Pempek in Bahasa Indonesia here. Lessy used to make Pempek Kapal Selam in the ratio of 8 to 1 for fish and tapioca flour. I modified the recipe a little bit by adding white egg.
Today, my blog is one year old. Still a baby, isn´t it?. Until now, I´ve been collected more than one hundred recipes, not bad. Here is my first posting. So, I would like to thank you: all my friends who leave me comments, support, share recipes, stopping by my site. Inspired by Hany von Gillern, I made cupcakes decorated with marzipan mini roses. Actually, I´m not a big fan of marzipan, but I couldn´t found fondant in nearby supermarkets.
Marzipan is a confection consisting primarily of sugar and ground almond (source: Wikipedia)
Ingredients:
Makes 21 cupcakes
4 eggs
1 tsp emulsifier TBM
75 g castor sugar100 g all purpose flour
15 g (3 teaspoons) chocolate powder
1 tablespoon maizena/corn flour
directions: put eggs, sugar and emulsifier into a bowl of electric mixer, beat on high speed until mixture is thick and creamy. Sift dry ingredients so that all ingredients are thoroughly combined, with spatula or with a low speed mixer. Pour mixture into muffins baking pan. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180°C.
When we had an Indonesian gathering two months a go, Kak Elsi brought this snacks. It´s really good. I watched how quickly they disappear. So, I asked her for the recipe. Unfortunately, I couldn´t make it directly because I don´t have a noodle/pasta machine. Of course, you can still make it manually but it will take longer than if we use this gadget. Thanks to WSV (winter schluss verkauft/winter sale), thought this machine can be used in every season :)). I prefer to buy a stainless steel-made than chromium-plated noodle machine. The reason for the choice, this metal doesn´t corrode easily. My oldest son helped me to make noodles, he really enjoyed using the gadget.
