Rosemary-Cheese Spritz Cookies

The dough is not easy to form so I have to add more flour. I decided to use cookies cutter instead of cookie press. And about the taste........I still prefer Kaastengels than this :)

Fortune Cookies

KBB (Klub Berani Baking) 27th challenge "Fortune Cookie". For me, It´s a little bit tricky to make these fortune cookies. First, I tried to bake it in the oven, unfortunately it´s too crispy to fold. I think,  it's just a matter of experience and trial and error for the various foods that I make for the first time :). Finally, I made my cookies in my teflon pan ^^.

Fortune cookies can be tricky to make - it's important to make sure that the cookie batter is spread out evenly on the baking sheet. Instead of using the back of a wooden spoon to spread the batter, it's better to gently tilt the baking sheet back and forth as needed. Wearing cotton gloves makes it easier to handle and shape the hot cookies. This fortune cookie recipe makes about 10 cookies.

Caramel Pots with Minted Shortbread

mintedshortbreadcaramel-retno

I´m a bit pessimistic when I see the shortbread´s recipe using fresh mint leaves. In fact, the taste is quite good. The fresh mint leaves improve the flavour of these buttery cookies. My kids like it....I´m glad don´t have to finish all of shortbreads by my own :). The recipe reminds me to the gifts that Arfi of Homemade send me last year : Vanilla beans! Imagine, the Vanilla beans had been flown from New Zealand and landed safely in Hamburg, now in my tummy...he..he. Thanks again Arfi. My caramel pot is too dark, the result is slighly bitter... never mind, next time better :).

KBB#8: Bitter Chocolate Peppermint Biscuits

Chocmintbiscuits

KBB (Indonesian Baking Club) challenge this time: Bitter Chocolate Peppermint biscuits, hosted by Ellen and Arfi .
The thickness of biscuits should be 2 mm, I made 5 mm ! Then, sandwich three biscuits with peppermint icing. Huaaaa...to eat those biscuits, I´ve to open my mouth widely. I think, two layers enough!

Chocochip Cookies

This is the first time, I made chocochip cookies. Actually, Rea ordered these cookies too. Searching some recipes in my friends´blog, I found Tie´s Fudgy chocochip cookies recipe. I made slighly modification by adding two tablespoons cocoa powder and use fine sugar instead of brown sugar. After one day, hiiikkkks.....the choco chips were still so soft and wet but the cookies crispy enough. Ahh...may be I made a mistake in the baking process or mixing the choco chips or hot summer?. I failed to make chocochip cookies then changed with pineapple jam tarts. Fortunately, my children enjoy the cookies :). Any suggestions for me?

P.S: Mindy and Tie, thanks for your suggestions. Next time, I´ll try to mix the choco chips and batter together.

Onion-Garlic Sticks

When we had an Indonesian gathering two months a go, Kak Elsi brought this snacks. It´s really good. I watched how quickly they disappear. So, I asked her for the recipe. Unfortunately, I couldn´t make it directly because I don´t have a noodle/pasta machine. Of course, you can still make it manually but it will take longer than if we use this gadget. Thanks to WSV (winter schluss verkauft/winter sale), thought this machine can be used in every season :)). I prefer to buy a stainless steel-made than chromium-plated noodle machine. The reason for the choice, this metal doesn´t corrode easily. My oldest son helped me to make noodles, he really enjoyed using the gadget.

Nastar

Nastar, one of my kids favourite cookies, is filled with pineapple jam. It doesn´t look good enough, but the taste is really good. Next time, I´ll make it in a better form ^_^

Kaastengels /Cheese Shortbread Cookies

For the best result, the choice of cheese is important to make Kaastengels. Use old/matured cheese/alt Käse like Gouda or Edam. Don´t forget to add pinch of salt if using unsalted butter.

Kokos Makron

Camilan satu ini rasanya manis dan legit, alternatif lain untuk memanfaatkan sisa putih telur, ditambah lagi dengan aroma kayu manis dan vanillie yg harum.
