Potato Pie

When I saw Shepherd´s Pie at Stevita´s Kitchen, I thougt my kids´d like it. I´d rather call that Potato Pie, it´s called "Pastel Tutup" in Indonesian. Whatever the name is, its taste so good. Instead of making homemade mashed potato, I´ve used Kartoffel Püree/mashed potato powder. My oldest son has told me that Pie becomes one of his favourite food. No wonder, nothing left for me!. Thank you Wita.

Pisang Mollen/Banana Puff Pastry

These are my lazy version of snacks. Easy to make with ready to use puff pastry. This time, I used "Pisang Tanduk" (Musa Paradisiaca)/Plantain as fillings. Pisang tanduk (horn banana), its length about 25-30 cm, is bigger in size and longer than common bananas. Friends of my son love this very much.

Ingredients
:

1 pack (450 g) butter blätterteig or butter puff pastry
2 horn bananas, cut into 20 pieces
sugar as desired

Put only 1/2 teaspoon sugar (on the top of banana) for each banana pastry
.
Preheat oven to 180°C. Bake the banana pastries approx. 30 minutes

Tumis Tahu Pak Choy/Stir Fried Tofu and Pak Choy

Green Baby Pak Choy, contents useful amount of Kalium, Calcium, Carotin, Vitamin C and B, is also called Shanghai Bok Choy. The leaves and stems are prepared in various Oriental dishes, often stir fried, steamed or to be used in soups. The leaves can also be preserved by salting.

Ingredients:
500 g Pak Choy, wash, drain and cut
400 g fried tofu, cut
1 Onion, finely sliced
3 cloves minced garlics
2 red chillies, sliced
1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
50 ml water
salt, sugar as desired
3 tsp cooking oil

directions: Saute onion, garlics until fragrant. Add sliced chillies then pour Oyster sauce and water. Add tofu and Pak Choy. Keep stir and fry until cooked.

I like Es Puter since I was a child. I used to buy the ice cream from travelling es puter vendor. Nowadays Es puter can be found during wedding party or traditional celebration feasts in Indonesian. Here, I have to make by myself because nobody sells that kind of ice cream.

My favourite foods and 8 things

I´ve been tagged by Aisha (Paknesia food) for what is my favourite food, Wokandspoond for: 7 things and Jun (yummylicious) for: 8 things about me!. Ohh..you have succeed to make me so guilty during a week before I´ve done it. I just wonder one who creates this kind of tasks. For me, It is a little bit like chained letters ( or letter chains?). Just because of you my dearest friends, I´m going to do it. Well, let makes it simple, I just make it one for all, Ok?.

1. To be honest, I do not know exactly what is my favourite food. I love so many kinds of food. I just could not choose one of them.

2. I love sate/satay (chicken, beef, lamb, or fish). Many variations of sate have been develop in Indonesia for example: sate Padang, sate Ponorogo, Sate Madura, Sate lilit (Satay from Bali), Sate Buntel ( I like sate buntel from Lombok) etc.

3. I love bakso (fish, Shrimp or Meat Balls).

4. I love Siomay and Baso Tahu/Tofu

5. I love Empek-empek

6. I love Otak-Otak

7. I love ice cream especially: Es Puter . I am going to share the recipe to you in the next posting, Okey?

8. Guess, what kind of food that I could not eat during my pregnancy?. Sate and Bakso !. So, two kids are enough for me.

Finally, I did it!. Now, who are the next lucky persons to do the task?. My dearest friends, You are lucky ! I ´m not going to pass it for you, ha..ha..ha.

Nasi Langgi


Awalnya pengen bikin nasi kuning, cuman teringat nasi Langgi request nya mbak Miming. Jadi aja deh minta bantuan mas googgle, cari sana-sini sembari mampir di blognya mbak Rieke, yg ada contentnya/ temen-temennya nasi langgi aja, lhaa..koq temennya ini ya yg banyak: ada Opor ayam, sambel goreng ati, pindang telor, kering kentang dlsb. Akhirnya, resep nasinya coba-coba deh.., kayaknya mirip Nasi Uduk yg udah pernah aku bikin, hanya ada tambahan bumbu lainnya. Cuman lauknya, pake yg ada aja deh... khan nasinya udah bersantan, jadi tinggal nambahin ayam goreng, sama telur dadar, kering tempe, sambel & lalapnya, mau ditambahin abon ehh..kehabisan stock.

Sayur bayam & Perkedel Jagung

Masakan ini kayaknya semua pada bisa deh, tapi buat yang belajar masak nggak apa-apa deh ditulis aja yaaak. Kebetulan pas belanja ke toko Turki lihat bayem fresh jadi kepengen, yang deket rumah cuman ada yg beku doang. Eh..ada jagung manis juga lagi murah, kalo pas nggak summer begini biasanya harganya lebih mahal. Walaupun masak yg gampang, seneng juga liat si Dedek makan bayem sampe 2 mangkok.

Rendang Daging

Bikin rendang 1 kg atau 2 kg sama lamanya, jadi mending sekalian banyak aja. Minggu lalu anak-anak pada klassenreise (study tour gitu lah) sama sekolahnya sebelum liburan summer, pulang-pulang pada kangen makanan rumah.. pada bosen makan roti dan pasta, sampe rumah cari nasiiiii...he..he. Si Dedek aja sampai nambah makannya klo pake rendang, si Bapak lebih suka rendangnya pake kacang merah, sebaliknya si Mas nggak mau rendang... pengennya tahu goreng !.

Nudeln/noodles/pasta bentuknya macam-macam, nggak selalu panjang seperti mie. Buat dimasak kali ini bentuknya seperti macaroni, dengan tambahan Hackfleisch (daging giling), senengnya klo masak ini anak-anakku doyan banget, praktis lagi.

Gulai Cumi


Bikin ini gara-gara ngiler waktu liat gulai cumi di dapurnya mbak Miming,  Sampe si Mas, anakku yg sulung bilang, kapan mamanya nyobain resep gulai cumi. Ternyata sedikit pekerjaan tangan ...masukin tahu ke dalam cumi, akhirnya jadi juga bikin gulai cumi (Makasih ya mbak Miming).

Balado Ikan Belanak

Senengnya kalo ada acara ibu-ibu, bisa mencicipi masakan temen-temen dengan spesialisnya masing-masing, rasanya lebih nikmaaattt gitu loh. Kali ini yanti raffles tidak hanya berbagi resep tapi juga masakin Balado Ikan Belanak...yang enakkk, untuk dicicipi bersama-sama, mantabb banget deh (Makasih ya!). Ikannya di goreng kering, jadi lebih kriuk-kriuk. Kalo nggak inget sama berat badan nih, pengennya nambah nasi terus...he..he.

Spiegeleikuchen

Spiegeleikuchen ini kalo diterjemahkan ke bhs. Indonesia jadinya Kue Ceplok telur. Memang setelah di tata buah Aprikose atau Apricot, tampilannya seperti ceplok telor. Sempat belajar kue jerman ini sama Mbak Yulis Huepper sewaktu masih di München. Bikinnya memang rada ribet sedikit, tapi nggak ada salahnya dicoba, jadinya lumayan agak banyak.

Bala-Bala

Camilan satu ini kalo di Bandung namanya bala-bala, ada yg bilang juga bakwan sayur.
Bikinnya juga gampang, pake sayuran yang ada saja dan nggak pake ukuran. Cuman si Mas nih, harus pake potongan tahu di dalamnya, kalo enggak dia protes. Bentuknya jadi agak nyempluk karena pake self raising flour. Bahannya wortel di potong korek api, tauge, tahu di potong kecil, daun bawang. Bumbunya cukup merica, bawang putih, garam secukupnya . Campur semua dengan tepung dan air secukupnya, lalu di goreng. Variasi Bakwan sayur lainnya silahkan intip Dapurnya Elvi dan Dapurnya Aisha.
