Nasi Kebuli/Kebuli Rice
I was craving for Nasi Kebuli, the problem....my oldest son and my hubby aren´t fans of Lamb. Anyway, I tried to cook it in rice cooker!. I´m quite surprised, they like it, too!!. Thanks to my dear friend, Helwah, who gives me tips how to cook it. She used to add milk instead of coconut milk into Nasi Kebuli.

Chili con Carne
Chili con Carne, which means peppers with meat, is the official dish of the U.S state of Texas (source: Wikipedia). Wacthing a German TV Program ´Wissenshunger´(hunger for knowledge), a show about food and other topics, inspired me to try this dish.

Gründkohl/Kale-Beef Curry
Kale/Gründkohl, considered to be one of the most highly nutrious vegetables with powerful antioxidant properties, is very high in beta carotene, vitamin C, lutein and zeaxanthin and reasonably rich in calcium (source: Wikipedia). What and where antioxidant can be found here.
I planted the seeds of Gründkohl/Kale in my little garden on March´07. Today, one of great joys is to pick the leaves and cook them in my kitchen. I just feel good! I made easy and fast Gründkohl-Beef Curry by using Instant curry seasoning mix. The taste of Gründkohl/Kale is almost similar with Cassava leaves or called daun singkong in Bahasa Indonesia.

Soto Pekalongan/Pekalongan Style Spicy Beef Soup
Many variations of Soto can be found in Indonesia cuisine with regional cooking techniques and ingredients (for example: Soto Jakarta, Soto Bandung, Soto Pekalongan, Soto Madura, Soto Banjar, Coto Makassar, Soto Padang, Soto Belitung etc). Although recipes and ingredients vary or almost similar from every regions , Soto is generally consists of shredded chicken or slices of meats with or without coconut milk. Served with hot steamed rice or lontong ( steamed rice rolls, compressed in banana leaves), ketupat. Pekalongan, known for its Batik, is a city on the central Java, Indonesia. I´ve got the recipe from Neni when I met her in Münich. I ´ve just made a little bit modification from her recipe.Sunday, July 29, 2007
Potato Pie
When I saw Shepherd´s Pie at Stevita´s Kitchen, I thougt my kids´d like it. I´d rather call that Potato Pie, it´s called "Pastel Tutup" in Indonesian. Whatever the name is, its taste so good. Instead of making homemade mashed potato, I´ve used Kartoffel Püree/mashed potato powder. My oldest son has told me that Pie becomes one of his favourite food. No wonder, nothing left for me!. Thank you Wita.Wednesday, July 11, 2007

Sate Padang
Friday, May 25, 2007
