Gulai Masin/Fish Curry



Ingredients:

1 kg ikan tongkol/tenggiri/spanish Mackerel, cut in pieces
juice of one lime
400 ml coconut milk
350 ml water
15 small green chillies
2 red chillies, sliced
2 asam kandis/asam sunti/dried Bilimbi ( See: Averrhoa Bilimbi)
1 stalk lemon grass, bruised

2 bay leaves
5 lime leaves
salt

spices to grind:
4 shallots, 2 cloves garlic, 2 cm ginger, 2-3 cm fresh turmeric

directions: rub fish with lime juice and salt. Grill fish in the oven for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, saute spice paste in a large pan until fragrant. Pour in water and other ingredients, then coconut milk. Add grilled fish, bring to boil , then let them simmer for a while.

mbak Ret, kalo ngikutin postinganku di MP, aku nemuin jenis asam2an satu family ama asam kandis dan gelugur, namanya kokum. Bisa dicari di toko India/Pakistan/Karibia, dijual bentuk kering maupun paste. Bentuk keringnya mirip ama asam kandis. Soal rasa gak kalah ama asam kandis, buat rendang mantaff juga
